The East Price Hill Improvement Association (EPHIA) is our neighborhood’s City of Cincinnati designated Community Council. Our objective is the encouragement and promotion of the civic advancement of East Price Hill, all of Price Hill, and the West Side of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. Through events, advocacy, and community-driven projects, we aim to build a safer, cleaner, and more connected community for all.
East Price Hill covers 3 square miles and is home to approximately 15,000 residents. We sit at the top of the East Price Hill Front, one of Cincinnati’s most prominent landforms — 850 feet above sea level — with sweeping views of Downtown, the Ohio River, and Northern Kentucky.
East Price Hill grew rapidly following the 1874 opening of the Price Hill Inclined Plane Railroad, one of Cincinnati’s five historic inclines. It rose 350 feet from “Eighth & State” — what we now call Lower Price Hill — up to West 8th Street.
Our neighborhood boasts over a dozen parks and green spaces, offering more than 150 acres for exploration and recreation. In 2009, Price Hill won the City’s Green Challenge and was declared Cincinnati’s Greenest Neighborhood.
The Price Hill Historical Society preserves and shares rich stories from our past. Notable historical figures with connections to East Price Hill include:
