EPHIA Takes Recycling Award
East Price Hill along with West Price Hill, Westwood and Northside were the winning neighborhoods in Mayor Mark Mallory's recycling challenge. Two top prizes of $1250 were pledged to the community that added the most new recyclers and the community that added the highest percentage of new recyclers. However, the Mayor and Rumpke decided to award four top prizes since four communities clearly outpaced all others. In addition, the recycling challenge awarded $250 to each community that reached their pre-established goal for new recyclers including Corryville, Downtown, Mt. Lookout, Paddock Hills and South Cumminsville. In total, the participating neighborhoods added 4,780 new recyclers between May 15 and December 15. The Mayor's challenge encouraged neighborhoods to recruit as many new recyclers as possible.
EPHIA Wins Cleanup Award
East Price Hill's 2008 Great American Cleanup efforts won the top award in Keep Cincinnati Beautiful's Great American Cleanup category. 75 volunteers collected 175 bags of litter and nearly a ton of large trash mattresses, box springs, sofas, loveseats, filing cabinets and dressers. 45 tires were collected and recycled and 15 flats of flowers planted. Thanks for everyones hard work and dedication to Price Hill.
